General Fishing Information

Another successful season and we're still fishing!  How can we go wrong fishing world renowned Hannibal Bank and its surrounding islands?  It just doesn't get any better than this!  Take a look at bending your rod our way for the new 2007 season!

Join us aboard the M/V Coral Star of Panama in Central America.  The Coral Star is a 115' live-aboard Mother-ship Operation, our "floating lodge".  Experience a new adventure with a Mother-ship that moves!  This cuts out long boat rides to the bill-fishing grounds.  Be on the water first thing in the morning and jump onto one of our 28 foot to 34 foot sport fishing boats.  We have a fleet of 7 sport fishing boats, so get ready to catch some of the biggest fish in the Western Hemisphere with our Penn International 20's, 30's, 50's and 80's along with assorted spin and fly fishing tackle!  We have also added a full compliment of AVET 2 speed reels.  We offer a 6 day package, and whether you are looking for billfish or want to enjoy our spectacular inshore fishery, plan to join us now!

Billfish Species:  Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Pacific Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna to 350 pounds

Inshore Species:  Roosterfish, Wahoo, Cuberra "Dogtooth" Snapper, Amberjack, Grouper, Dorado, Tarpon, Snook, Pargo, Jack Trevallies, etc.

Why Fish with the Coral Star?

Ø      Unlike other operators, when we say you have 10 to 12 hours of fishing, that means "fishing time" and not the time it takes to get to the fishing grounds.  Even our half day "fishing time" is 5 to 6 hours depending on tides.  Our "normal 6 day package" offers fishing 4 days, "10 to 12" hours and 2 days fishing, "5 to 6" hours.  This gives you 6 days of fishing!

Ø      As mentioned, the 7 boats in our sport fishing fleet range in size from 28 to 34 footers and we have the BIGGEST boats available compared to anyone in our area.  So you can easily fish 2 to 3 people on each boat to handle all of the double and triple hook-ups you are going to get!  On top of that, our sport boats have plenty of shade to get out of the sun, which is very important in our area.  All boats also have heads and beds for the anglers comfort.  Anglers can request their boat with stand up battle stations or fighting chairs.  Each sport boat has live bait wells that carry live bait and Tuna tubes for the live Bonita.

Ø
Our 115 foot Mother-ship, the M/V Coral Star has a total of 8 cabins with 3 different styled cabins to choose from that offer double occupancy, or triple occupancy if there is a family on board with one of their children.  Each and every room has a private shower, toilet and sink.

UPDATE:      Three of our latest improvements for the 2007 season:

Ø      First, we added a live bait tank on our 115 foot ship.  This tank allows us to stock a supply of fresh bait.  This really helps out, as the more live bait you have, the more fish you will catch.  Second, we added a freezer for "anglers only" which allows you to bring some fish home.  And third, we have upgraded our tackle with 2 speed AVET reels matched with custom made Seeker Rods.

Ø      Probably the most important thing is that we have changed our pricing in an effort to give every angler a chance to fish the world renowned Hannibal Bank, Coiba and the surrounding islands by having the option of fishing 2 or 3 anglers on one sport boat.
