Grace Straining is pictured with a wahoo caught while she was fishing with her dad doug, Gerald Wimmer, & Roger Cook aboard a 22 ft. Hydra Sport. The wahoo hit a rigged squid in 85 ft of water about 30 miles off shore. This 26.1 lb. fish was fought for @ 30 minutes on a Speedmaster with 17 lb mono.
Thanks for letting us get a picture and good job.
More Pics from todays trip!!!
Today Team Do Work sat out of the South Brunswick Island to travel to Taylorville N.C. Striped Bass fishing on Lake Hickory with Fishing Guide Bob Green today and dove hunting on Monday. The tactics we used today were just like King fishing. The day started by looking for shad flipping on the surface. Once we located the shad, we threw the net and caught all we needed for a half day of fishing. We then set out for the fishing grounds. Once we found a spot, we set a spread of five live baits that were slow trolled over structure, humps, ledges and drop offs. The area of the lake we fished is referred to as "Gun powder". We quickly learned how it got its name. As soon as the baits were set, the drags started screaming. All together, I learned that fresh water Striper fishing is very similar to the King Mackerel fishing we do at home. If anyone is in the Lake Hickory area and is looking for a great fishing experience, I would highly recommed Bob Green (828-493-4305).

Tim Gallimore sent end the following report & pictures:
Ryan Neuwirth, Matt Owens, and I snuck out for a little night time drumming on Tuesday evening. After a couple hours of ribbonfish attacks, our Hour of Power began. We boated 9 over the slot bruisers(28"-32"), had one rather interesting double up, and multiple broken leaders. The fish bit like bulldogs for an hour or less and were gone as quickly as they showed up. In my opinion, it was not a bad way to spend a couple hours on a school night!.
I bet that trip was a trip. Thanks and good to hear from you Tim.
If ya'kk have a report & pictures yu would like to share send it to me at firstname.lastname@example.org
This is Ryan Neuwirth of Ocean Isle and a catch & release red he caught tonight.
Mikennerly and his son Michael took my two grandsons out today for a little bottom fishing on The Blue Pearl. It was a great day on the water. These two boys, Jack and Will wore the Black Bass out! Not a lot of keepers but two tired boys who are now hooked on fishing.
Thanks Mike and hopefully you've turned them into fishermen too
Send your reports & pics to email@example.com & I'll get them on.
Here are some pictures of a dive trip Jeff Martini of Midtown Bistro and Cameron Sebastian of Coastal Scuba. took this week.
Below is a picture of Wendell Barnet, owner of the "Empty Pockets" and some of his catch from the 22bd. I haven't been able to get the scoop from Wendell about any of the particulars.
