~~"Reel McCoy Wahoo Smack Down". Daniel Simmons, Brian Robbins and Bryan Freeman ran out to the 100/400 Saturday morning on the Reel McCoy and found good suspended bait marks in 160 feet of water and hungry wahoos galore. When the dust settled our 12 wahoos weighed in at just under our 500 lb commercial limit. We had a couple gaffer dolphin in the mix as well. We ran back out Sunday morning and while the bite for us wasn't as red hot and the weather was rainy nasty, it was still good fishing with 6 more really big wahoos in the box and headed back to the hill by noon. Great fishing out there right now.
Thx for the report Daniel!!

Libby Royal Taylor, her son Noah and another couple joined Capt Stan and Austin on one of our charters this weekend charter. As you can tell they had a blast!
The crew of The Retriever caught the wahoo in the picture which are in the 40# range. All were caught before 11 at the 100/400 on ballyhoo in 155ft of water. Made for a short day!
Thanks for sharing the report. Thanks everyone for sharing your pictures and reports!
This is a picture from Toby Russ of Mr. Goodhands. As Toby attested to the bite was good today. They had a 59 lb and a 33 lb wahoo and Toby said they lost at least 6 more.
And I was home not feeling good :(
Chris Campbell and crew of the Bigger Whiskey had a big day on the water today!
Trask Cunningham and crew had 7 wahoo, a mahi and a sailfish today.
62.5 biggest, and a boat load with nothing less than 40. Heck of a day! Fishing blackjack area. Capt. Brant McMullan
Billy, Mark and Cayson Coley, and Jonathan Long had a boat load of big wahoo from the 100/400 area today. Their biggest was 66 and they didn't have a fish less than 40. What a day! Capt. Brant McMullan
The Brunswick County High School Fishing Association is fishing today. A dozen or more local boat owners have donated their time and boats to take teams of 2 fishermen/women high school students to fish today. The high school fishing team competition was established by Capt Brant with OIFC, Rusty and Carol Petrea with First Tee and Capt Fred David with Follow Me Charters. The purpose is to introduce kids to fishing and the character building benefits the sport offers. Weighin is today at OIFC from 3-4. Come cheer on the teams and help recognize the boat owners who have so graciously donated their time and boats for todays event.
It was a slow day for us today fishing the Winyah Scarp area. We went 1 for 2 on Wahoo and had a Mahi and released a Sail and missed a Sail. The wind blew around 15kts from the west. The one hoo we boated came from 110' of water at 73 degrees. The water is still warm on break at 75 degrees, thus I feel like the hoos may be spread inshore in the cooler 70-73 degree water. But who knows? It's fishing. Capt. Brant McMullan
