Trask Cunningham sent these pictures of the weekend fishing to the Georgetown Hole he took aboard Corey Bellamy's sweet looking Fountain the "Choice of Two". Also along were Richard Boles (Toes Up) and Briggs Badurski. If that is Briggs' real last name, it is too cool.
Trask said the black fin bite was hot. I've pulled tuna feathers before, but I've never plucked them from a live bird. Trask, you better watch out, some bird lovers might be hot on you trail.
Captain Brant and Captain Amy joined Robin and Chris Campbell for a yellow fin tuna trip. They proved that if you were willing to travel far enough you could hit the jackpot!
In this case they traveled to St. Thomas, The Virgin Islands...That was really uncalled for on my part wasn't it?
Don't forget to check the OIFC as well as Chris Campbell's pages out on FaceBook.
There are a lot of us who enjoy the thrill of Spanish Mackerel fishing. They are good eating, make great bait for king fishing and are near shore for those who don't have a boat big enough to feel comfortable going way off shore.
Today, the OIFC's own Terry and his friend from Lake Norman Captain J.T. trolled for Spanish using #1 and #2 planers with gold, then silver-pink 00 Clarke Spoons and caught the Spanish you see in the picture. They were fishing just off Tubbs Inlet in 24 feet of water.
Thanks for the pic and report Terry.
Jim Bowen said the Stick Slinger cleared the LR jetties around 0400 this weekend and headed out searching for warm water more than he was trying to locate structure. The Stick Slinger had to dodge storms on the way, and the seas were a little worse than forecast. When they got to 650' deep water they came across a weed line and jumped on it. The crew headed East on a weed line for 10 miles boating 16 nice Mahi. It took about 3 hours to get back in. The action was great but the trip out and back was a little sporty. All in all an awesome day aboard the Stick Slinger.
Thanks for sharing your bumpy trip Jim!
Captain Chris Dawson had the thrill of taking 9 year old Tyler Lambiasi on his 1st saltwater fishing trip. Along with Tyler were Will Patterson, Jonn Smith and Warren Thompson. Tyler is pictured below with a spanish mackerel he caught on the 4 hr. charter.
Also on the dock was Michael Goodwin, Mitchell Hough and Brian Locklear with the 12.7 lb and 17.6 lb grouper they caught southwest of the tower.

Captain Steele an 1st Mate Derek caught several mahi and an amberjack on a Stream trip with Tom Wildeman and brothers Greg, Rob and Mike Chandler.
The wahoo bite has slowed, but the mahi have certainly picked up the slack. What are they hitting? Almost everything. As most of ya'll know, mahi are ferocious feeders and are not known as the brightest light in the Gulf Stream.

Had the priviledge of guiding Papa G and Momma G deep into the backwaters this morning. We started off quickly with a 3 pound flounder! The bite was pretty steady for the first hour with several 14" fish. We made a move to find something with some shoulders. We quickly had our hands full with a fish on and fast moving current due to the full moon. Papa G did great work angling and landed a nice redfish. Quick picture and released to fight another day. Two more lively mullet minnows loaded and fired into the hole. The bait was nervous...very nervous....zzzzzzzzzz....
The fish made two or three really hard runs before releasing itself. We had two more hard hits and quick releases. I really wanted to hang around to see if we could get another chance, but store duty at the OIFC was calling my name. I had a great time with the G's! Thanks for going fishing with us! See ya on the water!
Fin said it was HOT outside today, so he came in to get an ice cold drink. He also wanted one of those t-shirts with his picture on them but those haven't come in yet. LOL.
