Who's ready to kill some Bluefin Tuna? Team Packman is!!! They put this one on the deck of there Cape Horn this morning. Congrats Billy Noble an Daniel Simmons.
Here is the report of Billy Noble and Daniel Simmons bluefin adventure. Congratulations and thanks for sharing. Daniel and I drove to Morehead city last night with big hopes of catching a monster blue fin tuna!! Morehead did not disappoint! We headed out about 6 am and made our way to the grounds! By 630 we had lines in the water and started our journey to find the big one! After trolling around for about a hour or so we spotted some bird action in the distance and turned the boat to check it out! As soon as we got to the birds she hit. The initial run was 600 yards! We gained line about four or five times having the fish close to the boat before he would see us and run some more!! After about 2.5 hrs he finally came up for a harpoon shot! Daniel nailed him! But once he was hit he took another run taking all our line we had on the harpoon! Thank god we still had him hooked! But we were scared of getting cut off with our harpoon line trailing behind him! Daniel worked the reel and got him back close to the boat thank god our harpoon line came up beside the boat! We grabbed it and pulled the fish closer to us! Keith put a nice gaff shot on his tail and pulled him in to put a tail rap on him! Once we had him tail rapped and on the gunnel we had the thought how are we getting this beast in the boat! That was a task since he was too big for the tuna door! We fought and fought and finally got him in on the deck! Finally a sigh of relief! We ended up talking to a few people and found a buyer and proceeded to make our way to get this beast weighed! Ended up 107 inches total weight 700 pounds and a core weight of 544 pounds! The biggest fish I have ever caught! Thanks to Keith and Daniel for coming with me on the packman for a unforgettable trip!!
Lots of trout in the canals. On the small side but better than nothing. Low tide and vudoo shrimp are the ticket.

Joe Zurad and I had a pretty good outing at Christina's Ledge last Friday with 9 keepers.
Have you all been missing us? We have been missing you guys stopping by the OIFC. We are VERY close to finishing inventory and can open for business!!! If anyone has been out fishing and has news or pictures, please send to us (email@example.com) because we have been stuck here doing inventory. We would love to hear about life on the water!
Updates and improvements have been happening around the OIFC for the past few days. Aside from the in-store inventory, Capt. Brant and I have been brain storming ideas to make this year’s Jolly Mon VIP even bigger and better. Sharpen your hooks and stay tuned –
Below are few pictures from this weekend’s wahoo bite. Keith Wood ventured out with me on Saturday; then turned right around and went again on his personal boat again Sunday. Proof that they are out there. Now if only someone can find a Bluefin…
Call (910) 575 3474 to book your trip today.
Keith and crew members caught this 80 lb wahoo at the 100/400. Meanwhile Brandon Sauls and his daughter Syd continued to put the smack down on the reds and trout

The action was non-stop aboard the OIFC World Cat yesterday. Phil Hester’s crew, Capt. Sean Morris and myself ventured out with hopes of finding a few bites around the 100/400 area. Upon arrival we were immediately hooked up with a false albacore on our long line. We made short work of the albacore and pushed closer towards the main number of the 100/400. Yet once again before we reached those numbers we got our shot at not one but two wahoo bites. They both ran strong but pulled the hooks. We continued trolling through the same numbers and continued to pull off/break off fish. However, in the mix with these wahoo bites we did manage to sling six dolphin in the boat. Still frustrated with our wahoo bite ratio, Phil and I began to discuss different tactics for dolphin fishing and as the conversation went on, he informed me of how nutritious the banana he just ate was…. After explaining how bananas were bad luck and making sure there was absolutely no evidence of the one he ate or any others on the boat, we hooked and boated three wahoo in short fashion. With the help of Phil’s crew, the total count ended with six dolphin and three wahoo for the day. Great work with a great crew –
Lure color and depth really didn’t seem to matter. We caught both wahoo and mahi on black/purple, blue/white, green, pink, and black/red. Depth also didn’t seem to matter as we had multiple bites on the planer and quite a few long rigger bites as well. The fish are out there and hungry and thus we’re trying to get another trip together for Saturday 12/31. $425/person and we have three spots left for the trip. Call me at (704) 616-1615 to reserve your spot today
