"Maiden Voyage " | Do Work / OIFC | 07/19/17

Jeff, Camdyn and I took the Parker out in the ocean for the first time today to see if she could catch fish   She didn't let us down. The short story is there were plenty of pogies just outside the Shallotte Inlet.  We filled the bait well with one throw of a Capt. Brant's Custom Net and proceeded directly to the 90's. As soon as we got the lines out Camdyn hooked up with a king. The drag was a little tight & it got off. But right afterwards she got another. Then we had a short strike followed by a Spanish.  This was a short experimental trip so we headed in.  All the fish were released to grow. If you want some good action I suggest a quick trip to the 90's

"More 8HR Action" | Catch All | 07/12/17

The fishing has been good both near and far yet the 25 to 40 mile range has been very reliable and rewarding lately. Today (7/12) I had the pleasure of taking Chris Stanfield, Luke Rappold, Drew Blast, Benicio Duarte, and Marcelo Duarte offshore to this range to try our luck. We started and spent most of the day about 35 miles offshore catching king mackerel. After catching nine kings and hooking a big shark, my crew decided to head inshore to check some bait pods for cobia. Luckily on our second bait pod stop we hit paydirt - two thirty pounders heading straight towards the boat. Both fish immediately ate freelined pogies and before we knew it, the fish were on the boat, pictures were taken and it was time to head back home.

The kingfish bites came off both live and dead bait trolled around 1.5kts near suspended sardine schools. If these sardine and cigar minnow schools stick around for the rest of July, you can bet the kings will not be far behind. Stable weather and good bait is key this time of year. Get in on the action before its too late. Call 910 575 3474 to book your trip today.

"Summer is heating up" | Catch All | 07/11/17

The fishing has been consistent this July. From Spanish mackerel along the beachfront to scamp grouper some 50 miles offshore – the fish have been there. Hopefully this consistency will continue throughout the month of July.  Call (910) 575 – 3474 to book your trip today!

These girls fished hard today Fish Hard Gear. 30+ lb fish that didn't make the scales in time by a couple minutes. If it wasn't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all. Proud of these lady anglers . Choice of Two/OIFC Fishing Team . Congrats to everyone that weighed today . Glad to see a couple fish are actually around .

"We Love to take Kid's Fishing! " | Tiberias - 22' | 07/10/17

Are the kids driving you crazy? No problem, take them fishing and let them drive me crazy for a few hours. We provide it all. Bait, tackle, license, and plenty of advice. I personally have a 5 year old and a 9 year old, so I know how to handle them for the most part. Whether the kids are cranking in fish or bobbing for bait in the livewell we will keep them busy. Provided are a few pictures from last week where the kids were involved, very involved and loved it! Many of them learn quite a bit as well. No better place than the outdoors. Come on down and lets go fishing! See ya on the water!

"Backwater Adventures" | Tiberias - 22' | 07/09/17

The bite has been good despite many obstacles, but a good Captain overcomes and provides a fun outcome. Look no further than the captains here at the Ocean Isle Fishing Center to provide you with a safe comfortable ride with a fun filled day with opportunities to catch fish, hear bad jokes, and see incrediable scenery. Below are just a few pictures that Capt. Jacob Frick took after some trips this past week. There are open spots still available this week including morning trips. Please call as morning trips often book up fast. 910 575 3474

What are the fishing biting on? Live bait! Creeks are full of menhaden, shrimp, and mullet minnows. Get a cast net or buy mud minnows from the Fishing Center. Find the right spot and be patient! You can't beat live shrimp to provide some kind of action. Black drum, redfish, flounder, sheepshead, speckled trout, and even this Captain is a sucker for a good fried shirmp. Everything eats them! Come on down and lets go fishing! See ya on the water!

"Sun, Fun, and Gag Grouper" | Catch All | 07/05/17

Mark Myers, Ronnie Phillips, Mathew Phillips, and Gavin Martin came aboard the Catch All with me for an 8HR trip on Wednesday (7/5). Since the trolling bite was a little slow on this particular day we decided to focus mainly on bottom fishing and balloon fishing while at anchor. The crew did an incredible job hoisting up big gag grouper, vermillion snapper, black sea bass and three king mackerel. All of the grouper were caught in 80' on live pinfish or sardines.

With the right bait, the grouper bite has been exceptional in the 85' to 130' range. Both scamps and gags have been hungry. As well as a few king mackerel. Call 910-575-3474 to book your trip today.

"Today's Action" | Do Work / OIFC | 06/30/17

Video Clip 1

our morning off shore/near shore charters reported a lot of bait and Cobia working it. They also caught a lot of Spanish. Longer charters will allow for more time to push further out and cover more spots. Inshore, Capt Jacobs showed up at the dock with 4 beautiful red drum and I saw one Flounder   As shown in the video Camdyn took the helm of the "Lil' Scrappy" Parker and along with her dad Capt Jeff Beck worked just off shore but got run off by rain. Talk to y'all later

"Kingfish report " | | 06/28/17

King Mac fishing has been very good over the past week; most fish are school size in 6-10lb range. Hot areas have been 90/90 and Shark Hole. But Capt Derek said he found hot action from fish in the 15lb class at the Horseshoe a couple days ago. The Pogys have been schooling in 30-35', further offshore than normal. And we've been seeing a lot of Tarpon in the Pogys. It has been a good early Summer thus far, stay tuned for more. Capt. Brant McMullan

Fishing continues to be good. Finger mullets are here right on schedule. Flounder fishing is starting to amp up. This week we had a 4.20, 4.40 and a 2.95 . Three solid fish. Not sure where the shrimp took off to. I've had trouble catching the even with my big trawl net.

"6 hour action " | Catch All | 06/27/17

Brian, Chris, Keith and seven year old Caleb Duncan Joined me on a 6-hour trip offshore today. The action was slow at first but once we found the bait, the king mackerel were not far behind. We ended up with three kings and one Amberjack - one of the kings being 22lbs. All of the action came while fishing around pods of sardines just offshore of the shark hole.

The bait is here and the bigger fish are starting to show up - just in time for some great charter fishing this week. Call 910-575-3474 to book your trip today!
