"Fall Red Drum Bite Is On" | Do Work / OIFC | 09/24/16

Book a charter with one of our captains and get inning the fun OIFC Pro Staffer Brandon Sauls is having. He caught 25 drum yesterday and 18 so far today!  Catch and release of course and note how he is properly handling them by holding them horizontal and avoiding as much hand contact as possible.    Also pictured is Davis Julian with "another one".

"Make up trip " | Catch All | 09/22/16

Its that time of year again. A few kings have been caught near the river channel, the bull reds have finally been found in the pogy pods along the beach and I just received a good report of wahoo being caught near the gulf stream. That’s right folks – its fall and its time to go fishing.

We have two offshore boats available to go the stream Saturday (9/24) – Cost is $425 per person and we need at least four people to complete the trip.

Sunday (9/25) we also have two boats available to do a 10-hour bottom/slow trolling fishing trip – Cost is $325 per person and we need at least four people to complete this trip as well.

Make it a long weekend from work and come experience what our fall fishery has to offer.

Call – (910) 575-3474 to reserve your spot today!

"Salty Daze Report" | Do Work / OIFC | 09/19/16

Salty Daze had an opportunity this weekend to fish in the 2016 Rumble In The Jungle.  The weather was Sketchy to say the very least.  The tournament got moved from Saturday to Sunday because of a small craft warning that lasted until 6 am Sunday morning.  At 7 am Sunday morning the field of 141 Boats blasted off in various directions.  This is a shot gun start and a true sight to behold.  As we made our way out of the inlet into the edge of the Ocean.  I already knew this wasn't going to be a smooth ride.  We pulled along side of the Huk, 42' Freeman with 4 Yamaha F350s, 1400 HP, when they shouted GO, we stuck right there with them, for, ooohhhh, about 2 seconds.  Lol.  Decision time was upon us.  We ran about 10 miles north and ducked back inside and ran the waterway.  This was the first of a few good decisions that we made. When we arrived at our spot, our baits were fresh and lively, not beat up like they would have been if we would have continued in the Ocean with the larger boats.  At 9:15 we had the long outside line start to sing.  She was heading for the wide open Ocean and changing gears while she was doing it.  Then POP, the line broke 100yds above the fluorocarbon.  Say a pray, lines back out, continue to work the area.  Then it happens, the Lord gives us another opportunity. Success.  We ended the day with 2 Kings and 1 large Spanish Mackerel.  As always the Rumble in the Jungle was a well hosted tournament and brought out the best of the best tournament fisherman.  This group included SKA National Champions, both past and present.  Not an easy group to compete against.  Salty Daze was extremely happy to come home with a 19th place finish against some of the best fisherman NC and SC have to offer.  We would like to thank our sponsors and supporters, we couldn't do it without you. #evinrude, #tidelinemarine, #surfmonkeywear, #gaffersportsfishing, #engel, #crystalcoastgraphics, #saltlifeoptics, #biminibayoutfitters, #tsunamitackle, #jbcustomrods, #truthreels, #oceanislemarinaandyatchclub, #capehornboats

"Rob's Bait Pens to be delivered 9/27" | | 09/16/16

I have a load of the below bait pens being delivered to the OIFC on 9/27; descriptions and pricing of what is coming is listed below. If you want one of them, email Derek@oifc.com or call him at (704) 616-1615 We are only able to get a limited quantity so first come. "Goggle Eye" pen: 1" x 1" mesh: 36" wide X 60" long oval X 36" deep. This is the most popular pen for holding Menhaden and Pogies as it is big and it fits well in the bed of a truck. $335 "Goggle Eye" pen: 1" x 1/2" mesh: 36" wide X 60" long oval X 36" deep. Same benefits of the standard larger mesh size but this smaller mesh allows use for Cigar Minnow, Mullet Minnows or other smaller baits. $395 48" Round X 36" deep pen: 1" x 1" mesh. A round pen is often preferred for keeping bait, particularly Menhaden. This pen is very roomy yet shallow enough to work in places without a lot of water depth. $335 48" Round X 36" deep pen: 1" x 1/2" mesh. Same benefits as the standard larger mesh size but this smaller mesh also allows for keeping of smaller baitfish. $425 Capt. Brant McMullan
