"Last Backwater School of the Year" | Tiberias - 22' | 11/15/17

The last backwater school of the year is scheduled for this weekend. Land class November 17th 5:30 pm and Full day of fishing on November 18th. This class will focus on tossing soft plastic lures to target trout, but flounder and reds may also be caught during this class. Call soon book your spot. 910 575 3474. Hal Blackmore and his crew fish with me earlier in the week and found the trout biting well. All trout were caught using a variety of soft plastics. Come on down and lets go fishing! "Specks biting well..." | Tiberias - 22' | 11/14/17

Been in and out of town hiding in the woods trying to find a deer for my 10 year old to shoot. We have seen a few deer and been successful putting some meat in the freezer for the winter. Meanwhile, I have tested the waters and found that the trout are actively feeding in many areas throughout our waterways. Many of the usual places are producing like docks, oyster bars, and the river channels. Live shrimp will most definitely get a bite floating them under a cork, but artificials of all sorts are also working. Hot lures have been vudu shrimp, bass assassin swim baits, and gulp swimming mullet. Come on down and lets go fishing! See ya on the water!

"Citation Trout" | Tiberias - 22' | 11/14/17

Congratulations to Whit Swain catching a 6.3 pound citation trout last week. The big ole girl bit a live mullet on a carlina rig while dragging for the last few flounder of the year. Still some flat fish around as well, but keepers a few and far between. Trout bite has been good with live shrimp and soft plastics. Weather is windy and chilly making the trout difficult to persue, but they love to bite in those conditions. Come on down and lets go fishing! See ya on the water!

"Guatamala adventure" | | 11/14/17

Our friend Mike Webb from Morehead City fishes the charter boat Pelagic in Morehead, BUT he also owns/runs a smaller boat in Guatemala in the Winter. Amy and I went with him a couple years back and had a blast catching as many as 40 Sails a day. This is a great way to learn the art of bait and switch for Billfish. He shot me a text to let me know he has a couple trips left open in March. I wish I could go! Give him a call at 252-904-3361 to get details and get on board. I recommend the adventure! http://www.pelagicsportfishing.com Capt. Brant

A good watch on a rainy day.  Just found this link from the Elite Redfish Series from a tournament I fished last summer in Biloxi.  Gives a pretty good perspective on what this one man redfish series is all about.  Enjoy.

"School pays off" | Catch All | 11/06/17

Pictured below, Dale Hall holds up his first gag grouper he’s ever caught on his boat. Dale was a student in my August 24th bottom fishing school and man did he take notes! Can’t be happier for him as he’s been honing his grouper skills ever since he completed the school. Dale said he caught four gags, two being keepers, in 65-feet around a ledge he found west of the shark hole. Great job on getting that 36 incher in the boat Dale!

"Fish Report" | OIFC | 11/02/17

If you aren't here fishing now, then you are missing out.  It gets no better than we are experiencing.  The weather has been great all week and is forecast to continue through the weekend.

The Stream is red hot with big Wahoo.  The Winyah Scarp area has been the hot area.

The King Mackerel fishing is red hot for quality size fish in the Cape Fear Ship Channel.

The Grouper and Red Snapper fishing is very strong in the 60-85' depth range.  And Red Snapper season is open!

You can't be a fan of fishing in this area and not be here now!  As a wise man once said to me, "Some will make excuses to go fishing and some will make excuses not to go fishing.  Which one will you be?"

We have open charter boats as well for the weekend if you need a ride.  Call 910-575-3474
